Numeronyms

  • Y2K problem - many programs represented four-digit years with only the final two digits — making the year 2000 indistinguishable from 1900
  • Y2K38 problem - The Year 2038 problem relates to representing time in many digital systems as the number of seconds passed since 1 January 1970 and storing it as a signed 32-bit binary integer.
  •  C10K Problem - The C10k problem is the problem of optimising network sockets to handle a large number of clients at the same time. The name C10k is a numeronym for concurrently handling ten thousand connections.
  • k8s - Kubernetes is an open-source system for automating deployment, scaling, and management of containerized applications.
  • v12n - virtualization refers to the act of creating a virtual (rather than actual) version of something, including virtual computer hardware platforms, storage devices, and computer network resources.
  • p13n - Numeronym representing personalization  
  • i14y - Interoperability is a characteristic of a product or system, whose interfaces are completely understood, to work with other products or systems, at present or in the future, in either implementation or access, without any restrictions.
  • c14n - canonicalization (sometimes standardization or normalization) is a process for converting data that has more than one possible representation into a "standard", "normal", or canonical form.
  • m17n - Multilingualism (multilingualization) is the use of more than one language, either by an individual speaker or by a community of speakers.
  • l10n - Localization is the process of adapting internationalized software for a specific region or language by translating text and adding locale-specific components.
  • i18n - Internationalization is the process of designing a software application so that it can be adapted to various languages and regions without engineering changes.
